Trip Manta (“we,” “us,” and “our”) is a flight and hotel price tracking service. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. We’ve written it in plain English so you can actually understand it. You can reach us at [email protected].

Information We Collect

• Account information: Your email address, name, and profile image when you sign up (handled by our authentication provider).
• Travel data: The flights and hotels you search for and track, your price alert preferences, and search history.
• Payment information: If you subscribe to Pro, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number.
• Gmail data: If you enable Inbox Sync, we use read-only Gmail access to search the prior 12 months and new incoming messages for flight confirmations. We store message identifiers, limited flight summaries, and encrypted extraction data needed to review or import a booking. We do not send, modify, or delete email.
• Price Protection data: If you enable Price Protection, we store encrypted passenger date-of-birth data and a Stripe payment-method reference plus safe card details such as brand and last four digits. Trip Manta does not store full card numbers.
• Usage data: Pages you visit, features you use, device and browser information. This helps us understand how people use Trip Manta so we can improve it.

How We Use Your Information

• Provide the service: Track prices, manage your account, and deliver the features you use.
• Send price alerts: Email you when prices drop on flights or hotels you’re tracking.
• Improve the product: We use analytics and session replay to understand how people use Trip Manta and find issues. Personal information is not recorded in session replays.
• Ask for feedback: We may send a one-time email after signup to ask about your experience and whether you ran into any issues.
• Process payments: Handle Pro subscriptions through our payment provider.
• Import and protect trips: Identify flight confirmations, create price alerts within your plan limits, keep new Gmail bookings in sync, and—when authorized—request eligible airline credits or refunds.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services for authentication, payments, analytics, email delivery, data storage, Google Gmail access, and bot protection. These services may collect data as needed to perform their functions, subject to their own privacy policies.

Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication (keeping you signed in), analytics (understanding how the site is used), and session storage (caching your recent searches for a smoother experience). These are essential to providing the service.

Data Sharing

We don’t sell your data. We only share information with the third-party services described above as needed to operate Trip Manta. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Data Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. Price history for tracked items is retained for the lifetime of those items. Encrypted Inbox Sync candidate content is normally removed after import and pruned after 30 days unless it still needs your review. Disconnecting Gmail removes the connection, OAuth credentials, and associated scan data; already-imported trips remain until you remove them. If you delete your account, we’ll remove your personal data within 30 days.

Your Rights

You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing [email protected]. We’ll process your request within 30 days.

Children’s Privacy

Trip Manta is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we’ll promptly remove it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we’ll let you know. By continuing to use Trip Manta after changes are made, you’re agreeing to the updated policy.
